> Inulin
Inulin is a soluble dietary fiber produced by many types of plants. Inulins are found naturally in over 36,000 fruits and vegetables such as onion, garlic, asparagus, leek, wheat, oat and banana. We humans have been consuming inulins for thousands of generations!
Inulin has a prebiotic property proven to improve the balance of the body's intestinal flora by stimulating beneficial bifidobacteria.
As soluble dietary fibres, inulin is not digested in the stomach or small intestine, consequently they reach the large intestine intact. However, unlike most other dietary fibers, they are selectively fermented by the intestinal flora. This means they contribute to an optimal intestinal function, improve regularity and reduce constipation.
The consumption of inulin can feed and further increase the Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli population in the colon. Fermentations of Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli produce short chain fatty acids (SCFA) and lactic acid respectively to reduce the colon pH to inhibit the growth of pathogens.
In vitro tests have found that inulin is an excellent and selective growth media and energy substrates for Bifidus bacteria. These bacteria have been shown to inhibit the development of a number of harmful strains. The results of these studies have been confirmed in numerous clinical human studies.
The caloric content of our special inulin is 1.3kcal/g.

> Maltitol
Maltitol is a sugar alcohol (a polyol) used as a sugar substitute. It has 90% of the sweetness of sucrose (table sugar) and nearly identical properties. It is used to replace table sugar because it has fewer calories at 2.1 calories per gram compared to sucrose at 4 calories per gram.
It does not promote tooth decay and has a somewhat lesser effect on blood glucose. Its high sweetness and structure make it suitable for a variety of reduced-calorie, reduced-fat and sugar-free foods.
